đź’Ľ Claim Process & Time Away from Work
If your claim is accepted, you're entitled to benefits that may include:
- Medical care at no cost
- Wage replacement (66 2/3% of your average monthly wage)
- Modified duty assignments when available
Time Away from Work:
- All time off must be documented by a physician. During University holidays or closures, industrial leave pay takes precedence over holiday pay
- 0–7 days: Use available leave time
- 8–14 days: Receive benefits starting day 8
- 15+ days: Compensation begins from day 1
Workers Compensation Pay:
By Arizona law, the injured employee is entitled to 66 and 2/3 of their average monthly wage in worker's compensation
By statute, the Industrial Commission on a yearly basis establishes a maximum average monthly wage.
Through your regular paycheck you will receive the 66 2/3 industrial leave pay.
An injured employee must use available SICK LEAVE then VACATION LEAVE to make up the difference to equal your regular pay. If an injured employee has no leave time, the employee will receive only the 66 and 2/3 industrial leave pay through their regular paycheck. This process allows for regular deductions taken from the employee's check to continue without disruption to your benefits
Industrial leave pay is non- taxed.
