Julia Rosen, Health/Safety Officer
Julia Rosen has worked as an Industrial Hygienist for Risk Management since 1993, after three years experience in a local consulting firm. She oversees programs in Respiratory Protection, Hearing Conservation and Medical Surveillance, to include employee education. She can assist with biological, chemical and noise exposure assessments, indoor air quality and lab safety concerns, mosquito problems, and exhaust ventilation issues. She also serves on the Animal Hazard Committee and Campus Community Occupational Health Committee. She is an adjunct lecturer for the Mel and Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health and thoroughly enjoys providing technical guidance to graduate student interns as they address real-world workplace health hazards here on campus. She is a UA alumnus, earning a B.S. in Biochemistry back in the day when all labs were still taught in Old Chem. She has a M.S. in Environmental Health Science from the University of Washington School of Public Health and Community Medicine, and is an ABIH Certified Industrial Hygienist in comprehensive practice.
