John Murphy, Health/Safety Officer, Fleet Safety
John began working at the University in January 2000 in the Radiation Control Department. He transferred to Risk Management and Safety in August 2000 and worked in many capacities including Hazardous Waste Specialist, Asbestos and Lead Coordinator, and finally as the Fleet Safety Officer for the University. He manages the Driver Database, reviews motor vehicle records, investigates motor vehicle accidents and teaches High Occupancy Vehicle Training.
John received a BA in Biology from Franklin Pierce College in 1992 and recently received a Masters of Public Health from the U of A. He is also a Certified Hazardous Materials Manager. Prior to working at the University, John worked with the Tucson Police Department as a Community Service Officer.
